Ziegler's gardens around St. Michael's church

Several sculptures which had formerly stood in the Ziegler park have since been relocated. The statues of St. Vaclav and St. Vojtech, were commissioned by Chrudim regional chief Vaclav Weber and created by Frantisek Linn of Prague. These statues had been initially placed on the parapet of the bridge over the river (between "Bida" and the Commercial Bank), and consecrated in 1847.

Later the statues were moved to the Ziegler park and finally to their present location, on the right side of Siroka street facing toward the church from the town's center.

On the left side are the statues of

  • the Virgin Mary cradling the deceased Christ (a1750 work of Chrudim stone worker Filip Petra)
  • the statue of St. Anthony of Padua
  • the statue of St. John Nepomucene

Statues of the Virgin Mary and Christ's passion are in the park at the right side of the church. Both these sculptures by an unknown author had been moved from their former location before the Capuchin church of St. Joseph.
